Augusta Health Selects Goliath Technologies to Proactively Ensure MEDITECH Performs For End Users Who Deliver Patient Care

Augusta Health has selected the IT industry’s only MEDITECH Performance Monitoring Module that’s built with real-time monitoring and threshold-based alerting to proactively resolve end user performance issues.

Goliath Technologies, the leading provider of Proactive IT Operations solutions to anticipate, troubleshoot, resolve and prevent performance issues in today’s complex virtual server, virtual desktop and hybrid cloud infrastructures, announced today that they have fully implemented their performance monitoring technology for MEDITECH, VMware and Citrix at Augusta Health.

“We were looking for a single technology that would provide us with visibility into the three key components of the IT infrastructure that impact end user experience-MEDITECH, Citrix XenApp and VMware,” said Mike Tremel, Sr. Systems Engineer at Augusta Health. He continued, “We were both surprised and pleased that Goliath Technologies offered a purpose built module for MEDITECH, fully integrated with their monitoring product, so in one view we can see the supporting infrastructure for MEDITECH which is Citrix XenApp and VMware. We now leverage this unique functionality on a daily basis to proactively manage our MEDITECH application so physicians and healthcare workers have unhindered access”.

Goliath’s MEDITECH Performance Monitoring Module provides out of the box support for all versions of MEDITECH including MAGIC, Client Server and 6.x versions.  The MEDITECH Performance Monitoring Module functionality varies depending on which version of MEDITECH the healthcare organization is running but in general it includes purpose-built monitoring rules, alerts, dashboards, and reports which display key performance metrics.  Administrators can correlate this with VMware, Citrix, and end user experience data while also ensuring the availability of key role servers in the MEDITECH infrastructure so end users can always execute the necessary transactions.

“Goliath Technologies offers software that helps ease adoption and ensure the utilization of EHR applications by mitigating, through proactive management, many of the infrastructure related deployment and ongoing management issues that can cause healthcare professionals difficulty when using EHR applications,” said Thomas Charlton, Chairman and CEO of Goliath Technologies. “When usability issues arise, the application itself is often blamed, but many times the root cause is found in the supporting VMware or Citrix delivery infrastructure. We provide objective data to healthcare IT professionals and, in some cases MEDITECH, so resolution actions are focused on the appropriate delivery element and not on the EHR application. Our customers report that this makes it easier to troubleshoot and keep applications always available. This is also an obvious value to MEDITECH and other EHR vendors because it improves the overall end user experience with their application.”
