Goliath Technologies, a systems management software provider for physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructures, announced today that industry veteran Thomas Charlton will move from Chairman to CEO. Charlton has spent the last 15 years leading turnarounds of technology companies for venture capital, private equity, and corporate investors such as Insight Venture Partners, Vantage Point Ventures, Novus Ventures, Carmel Ventures, Techbanc Inc. and Citrix Systems.

“We are pleased that Thomas has joined us full time having been Chairman for over a year”, said Jim Maughan, Senior Vice President at BB&T Capital Markets. “I agreed to participate as a Board Member and shareholder because of Thomas’ long history of leading software companies to a posture of high growth and profitability. Frankly, his track record of taking poorly performing assets and building value is exemplary, but I became involved because I am excited to see what he does with a company where his time, resources, and energy are focused on growth rather than restructuring.”

Prior to joining Goliath Technologies as CEO Charlton lead the turnaround of PHD Virtual. Downward trending sales and multiple CEO’s precipitated Insight Venture Partners asking Charlton to assume operating control of PHD Virtual. Charlton removed the development group and subsequent new product releases fostered 7 record quarters of growth under his leadership. Previously, he was CEO of multiple software companies including Shunra Software, VoiceGenie Technologies (acquired by Alcatel), Trail Blazer Systems (acquired by NuBridges) and Tidal Software (acquired by Cisco).

“I am pleased to join the team at Goliath Technologies full time,” said Charlton. “The company has enjoyed 6 consecutive record quarters of revenue growth, and my primary goal will be to contribute such that the record performance continues. The virtualization space, for both servers and desktops, is exploding, and Goliath is well positioned to capitalize on the market demand for products that assist in the deployment and management of virtual infrastructures.”

ABOUT GOLIATH TECHNOLOGIES

Goliath Technologies is focused on systems management software solutions for IT organizations that address the evolving challenges of managing physical, virtual and cloud infrastructures. These hybrid environments require solutions that are scalable, cost effective, and easy to use. Many legacy technologies are difficult to deploy and expensive to maintain, and as a result, are not well suited for this new paradigm. Inexpensive or free technologies, though easy to deploy and use, lack enterprise functionality and scalability. Both are slow to add features that are required to support physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructures. At Goliath, we provide products that fill this gap with the right combination of scalability and functionality at a reasonable cost that embrace the complexities of virtualization and cloud computing. Headquartered in Philadelphia, PA, our software is used by customers worldwide including ADP, ING Direct, Mindshift, Thomson Reuters and Shell. Learn more today at https://goliathtechnologies.com/.
